Christina Almeida

Founder & Lead Educator | Contrology Pilates Program

Movement has always been my first language. From the grace of ballet and the fire of flamenco to over a decade of devotion to Pilates, my life has been defined by motion. However, my transition from practitioner to "Contrologist" was born of necessity. Following the birth of my fifth child and a series of debilitating lumbar disc herniations, Pilates became a lifeline—my path to physical and mental reclamation.

Originally comprehensively certified through Power Pilates in early 2017 and advancing to Senior Instructor in 2019, I have served as a dedicated Educator since 2022. My career has been a global evolution, taking me from owning a boutique studio in Granada and the vibrant energy of Barcelona to serving as a Pilates Educator for Equinox in the USA, and finally to the rich cultural landscape of Kuala Lumpur.

Beyond my mentorship with Marian Tarin and Miguel Jorge via the Pilatistic Master’s Degree Training, I have attended numerous workshops led by industry icons including Kathi Ross-Nash, Brooke Siler, Inelia Garcia, Shari Berkowitz, and Pilates Elder Mary Bowen, among others.

Currently, my collaboration with Master Teacher Patricia Medros has sparked a new mission: bridging the gap between Contrology and functional breath-pelvic floor health. I designed this Teacher Training to empower you with a method that honors Joseph Pilates’ original intent while providing the modern tools needed for pain-free range of motion and alignment. I teach with joy, lead with precision, and invite you to grow alongside me. Every day, I am grateful to laugh, smile, and learn from my students.

 Testimonials

  • “This teacher training deepened the way I think about Pilates, not just the way I teach it.  What stood out most was how practical and hands-on the training was. Being corrected and having to teach under observation pushed my critical thinking. It refined my eye, my cueing, and my pacing. I feel more intentional and grounded in the system now.”

  • “I’ve found the Classical Pilates Contrology teacher training to be informative, concise, and clearly delivered, with a great balance of theory and practical application. The hands-on approach using all of the equipment, combined with self-practice, coaching calls, classes, and access to comprehensive studio materials, has supported my learning in multiple ways. As a yoga teacher, it’s already been incredibly valuable for my own practice-particularly in deepening my understanding of pelvic floor health, breath mechanics, and biomechanics. I’m genuinely excited and looking forward to continuing the journey and growing through the rest of the program this year”

  • “Coming from a contemporary pilates background, bridging over to classical finally made all the exercises made sense. There is still so much to learn from Christina, whether it be the transitions, creativity in progressions and also modifications that allows classical pilates to be accessible for all body types. It’s actually not as rigid as I previously thought.”

    Ili Qahira,
    Bridge Apprentice

  • “What I appreciated most was Christina’s ability to explain how to modify each exercise for different body types while still maintaining the integrity of the classical method. She helped us understand not just what to teach, but why and how to help every client feel the essence of the exercise in their own body.”
